Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

After a break in August, I am back to blogging…

In 1943, the psychologist Abraham Maslow published a paper entitled “A Theory of Human Motivation,” in which he posited that people have five sets of needs.  These needs come in a particular order; and as one level of needs is satisfied, we start working to fulfill the next level.

These levels are often represented in a pyramid (although Maslow never presented them in this form):
